Grafite

Use: Manufacture of bricks and refractory parts, crucibles for steel mills, solid or oil- and water-based lubricants, paints.
Occupation: Excellent conductor of heat and electricity, being the best thermal and electrical conductor among non-metals, graphite is highly refractory, lubricating, compressible and malleable. It has great chemical, thermal and oxidation resistance, properties that make this mineral have numerous applications and, therefore, of great interest for mining and industry.
Production: The graphite is extracted by Extrafilito, in the city of Nova União, MG, approximately 60km from Belo Horizonte, capital being offered to the market in the raw form “in natura” in bags.
